Happy New Year 2014 July July was Class of '83 30th Brandywine High School reunion month. The pic at right is a reunion of "fullbacks and keepers" from the soccer team--keepers on the flanks (Dan and Jeff), fullbacks in the middle (Rob and Erik). Dan and Erik were starters, but Rob and I weren't exactly chopped liver. In a game against Delcastle (I think), Dan suffered an injury and I subbed in. Rob ended up playing a lot on D. If I recall correctly, we came from behind to tie 2-2, earning a valuable point that ended up being the difference between missing and making the state tournament. Normally, we had scouts taking a look at future opponents. None of those opponents must have been playing that day, as our scouts turned their critique inward. At practice the next day, the blackboard in the team room had a rundown of how we'd played. Rob and I earned the distinction of being listed as "subs of note"--high praise from harsh graders.
