GREAT season!
Counting the 4 unsanctioned Metrowest Bandit races, I notched 26 for the year (including the Jan 2015 year-end Scrub Zone Nationals).
My stats are updated below.
I'll spare everyone the gory details about Cross Points (CXP)--in short, they are the "currency" of cyclocross and determine where a racer lines up in the starting grid. In turn, where one lines up in the starting grid determines how much of the "hole shot" (first turn/bottleneck) traffic the racer avoids. Lower CXP are better. A racer's CXP for a race depends on the overall strength of field and how the racer finishes within that field. A racer's overall CXP (on which starting position is based) is the average of the best 5 races out of the last 10 races within the last year. Typically, a racer's 5 best races will be sanctioned races in a racer's category. For instance, I'm a Category 4 (Cat 4) racer, so most of my races are Cat 4 or Cat 4/5. Sometimes, though, I'll race a Cat 3/4 or even Cat 2/3/4 race. I generally tend not to be very competitive in these better Cat races, however, and don't have as much fun. In any event, my best 5 races on which my CXP (536, about the best I've ever had) are the following.
I'll take it. |
