MIT's first (and, I hope, not last) annual Festival of Art, Science, and Technology impressed me to no end. Providence's Waterfire simply doesn't hold a candle to MIT's effort. I was fortunate to learn of FAST--a friend clued me in and we checked out Saturday evening's "night 1" (PDF map of exhibits | FAST web site).

Wowed and having failed to bring anything more than the so-so camera built into my Blackberry Curve (I'll admit it--the one dimension on which the iPhone bests the Blackberry is on the camera front), I elected to return for Sunday's "night 2" and capture it with my trusty and tripod-supported Panasonic Lumix DMC-ZS5.

After the fact, I spent some time on the "FAST" web site and came across a professional (or, at least, skilled) photo gallery. In the slide show accessible from the link below, you can compare my work to that of the pros.
