Shedd Park Cross 2015: Just Two Simple Planks

Getting caught from behind at the finish leaves a horrible taste in one's mouth. Well, this morning was delicious. In fact, this might be my most pleasing result in a cyclocross career that started at this very venue back in 2012.

Fast forward toward the end of the last lap. I'm right on the wheel of two riders ahead. Ahead is a left-hand u-turn before the barriers, then a quick trip up into the woods before dumping out onto the track for the 2/3 circuit to the line.

I passed the first of the two riders before the dismount, then the second as we go over the first barrier. My new-to-my-arsenal flying remount was smooth and they were rear view mirror fodder the rest of the way.
