  Overall philosophy

  • Our overall objective is to have fun while learning to be better soccer players.

  • At all times, players will be respectful of each other, opponents, coaches, parents, and referees

  • At practices, we like to minimize standing around. If each player has a soccer ball, we can encourage juggling or passing with a teammate should there be any idle time. (The Dutch say, "Always with the ball!")

  • We work hard to win; we learn from our losses and quickly put them behind us.

  • At the BU14 (7th grade) level, players begin to specialize with respect to position. When game situations allow and where players have interest, we will try to give them a chance to try other positions than their "natural one."

  • We strive for equal playing time unless discipline issues dictate otherwise.

  • Cheers from the sidelines should be limited to the "great play" or "great try" variety

  • Coaches and parents subscribe to the BAYS Zero Tolerance policy regarding referees
